PostHeaderIcon Know More About High Pressure Tanning Beds

A new class of tanning beds, known as high pressure tanning beds, has been developed that enables users to get a dark tan in a short duration of time. These beds deliver much better results and are a lot safer than their low pressure counterparts.

High pressure tanning beds get their name from the certain kind of lamps used in them. These lamps are made from quartz and are virtually two inches long with wattage as high as 1000. They are fixed securely at the back of costly glass filters that allow only rays with a predetermined wavelength to go thru them. Additionally, the gases filled inside the quartz lamps are filled at a pressure that is greater than the normal atmospheric levels, which is the reason that these beds are known as high pressure tanning beds.

High pressure tanning beds obstruct a major portion of the ultraviolet B rays. They only allow a tiny portion of these UV rays to reach your skin, which is enough to stimulate the skin pigment cells. Since ultraviolet B rays are obstructed, it is only the ultraviolet A rays that at last reach your skin. Thus, you get that tanned look without being put through any health risks. On the contrary, low pressure tanning beds emit a much higher rate of ultraviolet B rays that reach your skin, which means the the risks are higher.
