Broken, brittle and dry hair were just some of the side effects of the early hair straighteners. This could be the reason why in the’80s it was all about crimped hair, as this was less harmful. Buying a new hair flat iron every year is ridiculous and consumers shouldn’t have to buy them that frequently.
